CogCoach Brain is a research study testing new ways to support healthy brain ageing through lifestyle changes such as physical activity, healthy eating, memory strategies, and social and cognitive engagement.

The study is conducted entirely online and can be accessed using a computer or tablet. Participants are randomly assigned to one of two study groups. Both groups receive access to the CogCoach Brain online program. Participants in one group will also receive personalised consultations with an Accredited Practising Dietitian, an Accredited Exercise Physiologist, and a trained member of the research team to support healthy lifestyle changes.

All participants complete online or telephone assessments before starting the program and at four additional timepoints over 27 months. These assessments include questions about lifestyle, diet, health, memory and thinking. Participants who consent to optional blood collection may also be invited to provide blood samples at baseline and 27 months.

Our aim is to evaluate the effectiveness of CogCoach Brain in supporting brain health and reducing dementia risk. The findings will be used to develop evidence-based dementia risk reduction resources for general practitioners and the wider community, as well as an implementation guide to support future delivery of the program.
